“With great power comes great responsibility.”
While Hillel staff put its finishing touches on welcome-back-to campus programs last week, we were shocked into action by an incident that could endanger the very students Hillel is here to protect.

New year, new students!
Hillel is thrilled to welcome our Colorado students back to our campuses and welcome all of our Freshman and transfer students for the first time. After a record breaking 21-22 academic year, we are excited to offer innovative, fun and inspirational programs excite our students to live meaningful Jewish lives in college and beyond. Our programs revolve around Jewish learning, Israel, wellness and, of course Shabbat and holidays. To learn more about our programs this year visit our campuses pages on our website.
Hillel’s in Israel
Our travel-to-Israel programs are some of the most impactful experiences we offer. Our students return to Colorado transformed and forever connected to their Jewish identity, to each other and to Hillel. Read about our full experience in Israel in this blog from Lily Gross, our DU Hillel Campus Director. Do you or anyone you know would like to join our next, free Israel trip? Sign up here.
Assuring our students’ wellness.
As are grateful for the opportunity we had to participate in the recent Mental Health First Aid Training offered by Jewish Colorado through BEWELL, and led by Beth Lipshitz. We are moved to see our Jewish community come together to address the ever-growing spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional wellbeing challenges of our youth. Our newly formed Hillel Wellness Committee is working to craft and implement policies that will lead to Hillel being even better prepared to help guide our students through today’s challenges. The Committee consists of students, board and business board leadership, staff and community members. Stay tuned for more.
