“Live From Campus” Events

  • a new cross-campus/community Hillel of Colorado ongoing series
  • tough topics that affect our future
  • student leaders interview local & national personalities
  • all community members & students invited

At Hillel of Colorado our mission is to “build a Jewish community whose values enrich the lives of students during their college years and beyond”. This goes beyond our weekly Shabbats, social hours, and chicken coop tending and requires us as a community to think critically about pressing issues in our world. This is what inspired our newest Hillel of Colorado event series: “Live From Campus”.

“Live From Campus” is an ongoing series featuring Hillel students interviewing leaders on issues important to them. These student-led interviews are open to the general community to give us all an understanding of the tough topics and the questions our students, the Jewish community’s future leaders, find most relevant to their lives.

Our initial “Live from Campus” program took place on March 31, 2021. Featuring Phil Weiser, Colorado State Attorney General, and Jena Griswold, Colorado Secretary of State, this event was inspired because:

  • More college students voting in this past year’s presidential election than ever before.
  • Our Colorado Hillel students care deeply about what type of country they will inherit.
  • Many find their Jewish identities to be central in their journey forward as citizens of our nation.

This initial “Live from Campus” event explored what our students – and all of us – can do to assure a future for our American democracy. If you missed this event and want to review the hour-long conversation, check it out here:
