View All DU Hillel NEwsWho We Are
Denver University Hillel is a proud part of Hillel of Colorado – which also includes the Colorado State Hillel – serving students with traditional programming such as Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, social justice initiatives, and religious and social programs; leadership programs to train the Jewish leaders of tomorrow, and Israel programs including Birthright Israel travel opportunities and Israel education, dialogue, and advocacy programs.
What We Do
At DU Hillel’s home-away-from-home we offer our students lots of ways to explore their Jewish identities.
From Shabbat dinners, holiday, celebrations, fun social programs, Leadership Development, and Jewish learning opportunities, Hillel is at the forefront of cultivating the next generation of Jewish Joy!
Join us every Friday night at the Merage & Allon DU Hillel Center for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by a delicious homemade dinner, and community experience. Here at Hillel, we are so lucky to have our amazing students take the lead in planning and implementing all of our programs.
Learning Opportunities
It is for good reason that the Jewish people are called – “People of the Book”. Learning is a core value in Judaism, so at our DU Hillel we offer a class each quarter that takes Jewish learning and makes it fun!
- This fall we will explore our Jewish identity through food in our Jewish Cooking series! Join this 4 part journey in the kitchen.
- This winter, join our Winter Wellness Cohort – a 5 part series looking at daily Jewish ritual to inspire our own wellness practices.
- In the spring, apply for our Kol Israel class which will explore different facets of Israel through the lens of culture.

A Word From Our Campus Director
Lily Gross
Shalom – I say this not only as a “Hello” but also as a wish for peace to you. We live in an ever-changing world of ups and downs and I am grateful to have the opportunity to help you find your way through them in the flow of college. Through learning, song, food, and of course community we at our DU Hillel explore how our ancient Jewish traditions can be applied to the modern world!
As the Director of Jewish Student Life, I am excited to embark on the journey of Jewish exploration with the University of Denver Hillel student body. I look forward to getting to know you, so please reach out! I am only an email, phone call, or text message away to share a “shalom”.
