As Covid-19 cases continue to climb in my home state of New York, I have found being back at home stressful. I am sure many people are struggling with being back in their childhood bedrooms, living with their parents again, and trying to get their school work done. I have found that getting into a healthy schedule is so important to finding a bit of normalcy in these uncertain times. This includes a reasonable bedtime and wake up time, getting work done, eating foods that fuel your body (on a regular schedule) and probably most important – staying in contact with the outside world. Being a part of the leadership team of CSU Hillel has continued to push me to stay connected with our weekly meetings, and having the support system of my fellow interns! While that’s great for us leadership interns, we want to help those not a part of leadership to also stay connected with their outside world, and Jewish community. One thing that I am so grateful for, is the continuation of our Friday evening Shabbat services. If you haven’t joined us for one yet, I encourage you to check out our virtual services. It has been a great stabilizing factor in my life at this time. I attended Shabbat services every Friday evening at the Hillel House, and now I am able to continue that part of my schedule while staying home. You can find the link for our Zoom services on our facebook page.In addition to our shabbat services, if you keep up with our social media, you’ll see that we have been very active in bringing positive and supportive content to you. We have provided resources if you are having a particularly hard time, positive imagery and quotes and tips for practicing self care! Our team is hard at work trying to give you support during these crazy times. If you have ideas for other ways we can support you or the community, we’d love to hear them! Feel free to message us so that we know how to best serve you! All my best, Molly Gillman.
