Who We Are

Denver University Hillel is a proud part of Hillel of Colorado – which also includes the Colorado State Hillel – serving students with traditional programming such as Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, social justice initiatives, and religious and social programs; leadership programs to train the Jewish leaders of tomorrow, and Israel programs including Birthright Israel travel opportunities and Israel education, dialogue, and advocacy programs.

What We Do

At DU Hillel’s home-away-from-home, we offer our students lots of ways to explore their Jewish identities. From Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, fun social programs, leadership development, and Jewish learning opportunities, Hillel is at the forefront of cultivating the next generation of Jewish Joy! Join us every Friday night at the Merage & Allon DU Hillel Center for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by a delicious dinner and community experience. Stop by our Bagel Table on the bridge every Wednesday to grab a bite, say hi, and connect with friends. Here at Hillel, we are so lucky to have our amazing students take the lead in planning and implementing all of our programs.

Learning Opportunities

It is for good reason that the Jewish people are called the “People of the Book.” Learning is a core value in Judaism, so at DU Hillel, we offer a class each quarter that takes Jewish learning and makes it fun!

In the spring, apply for our Kol Yisrael class, which will explore different facets of Israel through the lens of culture. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and real-world case studies, you’ll dive into Israeli music, food, art, and societal dynamics, gaining a deeper understanding of Israel’s diverse and complex identity.

Stay tuned for application details, and don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn, connect, and explore!

DU Hillel

At the DU Hillel, we have some awesome ongoing programming. Sign up for more information!

Birthright with DU Hillel

Ready to float in the Dead Sea, hike breathtaking mountains, and deepen your connection to your Jewish identity? Check out our Birthright page and sign up for the Hillel of Colorado Birthright Summer 2025 trip (June 15-26) to secure your spot for an unforgettable adventure!

Kol Yisrael Learning Cohort – Pluralism

Explore how Jewish identity and values shape life in Israel through this 6-week learning cohort guided by the Denver Shinshinim and Nofar, DU Hillel director. Each session will dive into Israeli case studies to address topics and uncover the complexity and beauty of Israel society.
Dinner will be provided each week. Fellows who complete the program are eligible to receive a stipend.

The Winter Quarter Learning Cohort is now closed. Please check for updates on the Spring Quarter Learning Cohort opening soon!

The Service Engagement Internship – Powered by Repair the World and Hillel International – gives SEI Interns the skills and resources to engage peers in service, civic engagement, and social change work. Each SEI Intern will receive a stipend for completion of the program requirements along with a budget to support service work on campus. Learn more here
